Abstract
In this chapter, we will successively analyze the genesis of the demographic transition model and its generalization, current trends in population growth, demographic transitions in the world and in Latin America and the Caribbean. The main results of the chapter are expected to provide an in-depth understanding of the relationship between population and development.
Dans ce chapitre, nous analyserons successivement la genèse du modèle transition démographique et sa généralisation, les tendances actuelles de la croissance démographique, les transitions démographiques dans le monde et en Amérique latine et Caraïbes. Les principaux résultats du chapitre devraient permettre de comprendre en profondeur les relations entre population et développement.
